The Government of India has issued guidelines for the signing on and off of Indian seafarers. For those signing on, the seafarer must visit a medical practitioner to ensure that they are asymptomatic for Covid-19 and that their contact and travel history are screened.
For signing off seafarers, a health declaration should be issued by the ship and the seafarer quarantined until a Covid-19 test is undertaken in the port.

The question which remains unanswered is that how will the seafarers move from the discharge ports to their home town since all modes of transport are shut down and stet border sealed.
